FOR THE LOVE OF THIS LAND - THE HANCOCKS”
FOR THE LOVE OF THIS LAND is a deeply personal documentary about family, faith, legacy, and the enduring relationship between people and the land they call home.
Set against the sweeping landscapes of rural Florida, the film follows multiple generations of the Hancock family as they fight to preserve not only a working farm, but a way of life that is rapidly disappearing across America. Through intimate interviews, breathtaking cinematography, and the rhythms of the changing seasons, the story explores the values of stewardship, sacrifice, resilience, and the belief that we are caretakers—not owners—of the land entrusted to us.
More than a film about agriculture, For the Love of This Land is a universal story about heritage, community, and what is lost when history gives way to unchecked development. It is a celebration of those who rise before dawn, work with their hands, place their faith in God, and dedicate their lives to leaving something meaningful for the generations that follow.
At its heart, the film asks a simple but profound question:
What kind of legacy will we leave behind—and what is worth fighting to protect?
“KEN WELLS”
Born into one of Southwest Florida's most iconic hospitality families, Ken Wells grew up on the remote shores of Cabbage Key, the legendary island destination that has welcomed generations of boaters seeking refuge, good food, and a slower way of life. His parents took an extraordinary leap of faith when they purchased the island in 1976, transforming it into one of Florida's most beloved waterfront landmarks before later expanding the family legacy with the historic Tarpon Lodge on Pine Island. Today, Ken and his brother continue that stewardship, preserving not only two treasured destinations but an authentic piece of Florida history.
But beneath the idyllic island setting lies a far more personal story.
After being diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer, Ken was forced into the greatest battle of his life. Facing uncertain odds, he confronted the disease with the same quiet determination that had defined his upbringing—drawing strength from family, faith, and the extraordinary community that had surrounded him since childhood.
More than a story about illness, KEN WELLS is a celebration of survival, legacy, and perspective. It explores what it means to carry the weight of a family heritage while discovering that life's greatest victories are not measured by business success, but by gratitude, resilience, and the simple privilege of another sunrise over the waters of Pine Island Sound.
Set against the timeless beauty of Cabbage Key and Tarpon Lodge, this is a moving story of courage, hope, and a man who refuses to let adversity define the final chapter of his life.
“This prolific odyssey is set to profoundly impact and transform the hearts and minds of its audience.”
“JONELLE’S JOURNEY”
In a quiet clinical space, Jonelle, a leader at NextGen, confronts vulnerability, uncertainty, and the invisible weight carried in the body.
Jonelle’s Journey captures an intimate moment where advanced medical technology meets deeply personal trust. Choosing to undergo a thyroid procedure that relies on precision, innovation, and experience, Jonelle places her own body in the hands of the very technology she works with—allowing belief to move from theory into lived experience.
What makes the moment profound is not just the procedure itself, but the conviction behind it. As a senior figure at NextGen, Jonelle’s decision to trust this technology on herself speaks volumes about her confidence in its potential—and its responsibility.
The surgery is performed by Dr. Roy, the leading thyroid surgeon in the United States, known for performing more thyroid surgeries than any other physician nationwide. Yet the film resists spectacle, focusing instead on the quiet exchange between patient and practitioner, where science, trust, and human presence intersect.
Neither instructional nor promotional, the film lingers in subtle gestures and unspoken moments—revealing how healing is often less about intervention, and more about faith, care, and surrender.
Shot with a restrained, cinematic aesthetic, Jonelle’s Journey invites viewers into a deeply personal experience where technology serves humanity—and trust becomes the true measure of progress.
